MANAGEMENT
This is a general survey course that examines the concepts of conscious competence, performance management, Malsow’s hierarchy of needs, basic communication, discipline and motivation. It discusses the the basic elements of management and supervisory theory and applies them to the participant’s real world situations. Participants are given the building blocks that can be used to build a solid management philosophy and become the reoccurring themes throughout the rest of the curriculum.

MANAGEMENT II
This program concentrates on two vital issues. The first issue is the development of a written management philosophy. Each participant is encouraged to look at their present philosophy and determine if their daily actions support or betray that philosophy. Throughout the course of the program they are encouraged to solidify or modify their philosophy based on what they’ve learned. At the end of the program, they will have a written philosophy, with supporting behaviors that will become a model for what they do as a manager or supervisor. The second issue that is addressed in the program is the ability to solve problems as a member of a team. Participants pick real world problems they’re facing on the job and develop creative solutions for implementation. They learn how to use a problem solving model in evaluating their problems to insure long-term solutions vs. short-term band-aids.

MANAGEMENT III
This program tries to give managers and supervisors a sense of what it’s like being a business owner and entrepreneur. They are exposed to different worldwide economic philosophies, types of ownership, Federal laws and regulations that influence daily business operations, differences in operating in a union and non-union environment and daily concerns of maintaining profitability. Participants are grouped into a series of companies where they have to go through the simulated process of start-up, manufacturing, problem resolution, sales and bottom line concerns of a normal company. This forces the participants to move outside their own box as an individual supervisor and see an overview of the problems that the company faces.

MANAGEMENT IV
This advanced program is divided into three segments. The first segment is designed to give managers an extensive understanding of different leadership styles. They will be given individual evaluations that will determine their own leadership style so they can see how effective they are in managing other people. While no leadership style is right or wrong, participants will see how different styles are more or less effective in different situations. The key objective is to give managers the ability to adapt and adopt different styles, depending on the situation they’re facing. The second segment of the program is designed to give managers a solid foundation in time management. The thrust of the segment is to turn crisis habit into crisis management, where managers learn to identify what is really important and how to plan for and handle the unexpected. The final segment of the program is designed to help managers effectively use teams to solve problems, implement work cells and direct and work on projects.

COMMUNICATIONS
Communication is the number one problem that all organizations face. This program is designed to improve communications at all levels of management and throughout the organization. The process of communication is examined. Individual topic that are discussed include empathic listening, non-verbal communication, the use of memos, voice mail and e-mail and group presentations.

HUMAN RELATIONS
This program examines why people behave the way they do. It helps managers develop a strategy that will enable them to motivate the people they supervise more effectively. Topics that are discussed include writing job descriptions, defining expectations, doing effective performance appraisals, and conducting safe discipline with the use of reality contracting.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT / HARASSMENT AWARENESS  One of the major issues in any defense in a harassment complaint and subsequent litigation or agency intervention, is what did you do to educate and train your staff? Having a strong policy against harassment and redistributing that policy is no longer enough. If you are attempting to use an affirmative defense approach, you will need to show that your company has taken a proactive stance and action against harassment and have provided sexual harassment training for your entire staff. This program was designed to help you accomplish that goal.
